What decade in the 20th century was the ideal time?

The 1970's I would say even though I am 16.I love Soul Train and funk and soul music like The Ojays,Staple Singers,Al Green and the talent of that time was outstanding.I always wanted to be a teenager in the 1970's and wish time could be turned back but was the 70's ideal or probably decades before.Well I am African American so for blacks I would say 1970's since the 1950's had lynchings and racism.What was the worst meaning non ideal time be?
