How do I return to God?

Pick up a copy of C.S. Lewis' "Mere Christianity" before going back to Church or reading the Bible. That book helped me understand religion better than 12 years of Catholic school or religious study. It helped me get back into my faith. I think it's best for one to understand religion and God before you go back to it. The book looks at religion in a more philosophical way as opposed to shoving in your face and it makes you think about what it is your preaching, worshiping and believing in. And Lewis was like you and me, was raised in the faith, saw it as fallible and illogical and left only to return. So the writing looks at things not usually covered by theologians.
