How do I beat the level "the destroyer" in Spyro Dawn of the Dragon for Wii?

I'm stuck in this huge water canal type thing and I have to put these crystals on high plates. The problem is I can't move spyro or cinder when they are holding the crystals. They can't fly high enough or climb the vines without falling off. If someone knows the trick it would be much appreciated.
