Designing a logo for a band? Help?

So, my brother asked me to design a logo for his band. They do mostly jazz, funk and swing. Their band is also called Short Fuze. (Like FUSE- but spelled with a z.) I had an idea of drawing an amp, with a cut wire coming out of the back. But i dont know... could someone give me an idea please? Anything would help alot! :)) Thank you :)
